Da Crib

Here are some photos of Ammon assembling the baby crib!!! It's such a pretty color, finding a dresser to match (for cheap) was a bit of a headache, but finally found one today. Phew!!

Jury Duty

Kind of a funny little thing that happened to me the other day was that I was chosen for jury duty. I've only even been summoned once before and that was when I was just out of high school. It was a DUI case, and I they dismissed me since I was a Mormon (didn't drink at all and thus biased against people who do drink) and since I was the SADD club president in high school. However, THIS time, even though I was 33 weeks pregnant, I couldn't find a single reason to ask to be excused from the jury of a trial involving a stolen vehicle. Long story short, once I was chosen and it took me an hour to get home from downtown Phoenix I was SO annoyed that I was cursing my own honesty. However, by the time I showed up the morning of the trial, I had taken my own advise to "Suck it up!!" and was ready to do my civic duty. When I arrived, one of my fellow jurors (a middle-aged blonde with an obvious need to share EVERYTHING) starts telling us all about how she had sat outside the courthouse right next to the defendant, who was clutching his bible and telling his significant other that he "just shouldn't have taken those keys." Needless to say, once the judge heard about it, there was a quick mistrial, and I was back home within three hours. Now I am SAFE for 24 months!! HALLELUIAH!!

Da Shower

The other day my family hosted a Baby Shower for me, and as you can see from the photo, we got a whole lot of presents. So much that I spent most of my time opening them and not as much time talking with those that came to give me support. It was such a fun time!! My sister Jessica made an awesome Bear-Cake with the help of her cake-decorating trainer Melissa, and it just added to the cuteness!! I appreciate all who came and all who helped and especially for the presents. We got such an amazing asortment of items that we really needed, it was very comforting to have us that much more prepared! Thanks again for such a wonderful time!!!

Family Photo

We decided to finally take a family photo since Ammon has been proclaiming that his belly is still bigger than mine, but I think this picture definitely proves him wrong. I look like I've added several inches (and more than a few pounds) just in the last few weeks. On Wednesday I will be at 33 weeks, which means I have 51 days left as of today. CRAZY!!! As far as everything else, I still feel pretty good. More tired and more swollen (I feel like I don't have any ankles, just puffy legs and feet), but I'm still able to get most done that needs to be done. I'm starting to get a little apprehensive about preterm labor and the "HOLY COW, WE NEED TO DO THIS AND THIS AND THIS BEFORE THE BABY COMES!!" type of emotions, but still haven't hit panic mode. I think I will save that for when I actually go into labor... yeah that would be good!!

Happy Easter!!

I thought it would be fun... since we have baby chicks... at Easter time... to get some cute photos. And they're not great but cute nevertheless, so HAPPY EASTER!!!

Da coop

Ammon and I have decided to begin as a couple to try to be more self-sufficient. Some people do gardens, some people are seamstresses while others are canning fanatics. Well, while I do have ambitions to some day learn all of these useful skills, Ammon and I figured the best place for us to start would be with chickens!! Our neighborhood allows them and in fact, several of our neighbors have them. I eat at least two eggs a day, so that means a dozen a week. Eggs sell for an average of $1.50 a week. Plus if you add in any baking or if Ammon wants any, that's even more... so we did the math and we could spend the same amount on chickens and end up with even more eggs that we could share (plus these would be organic eggs, which go for $2.50 or more a dozen). Not to mention they will help with our tick and weed problem. So Thursday we bought 10 adorable chicks and Ammon has started construction on our coop which will be a transformed shed. I will have a post once everything is completed of course, but here's what we have so far!

Ode to a Big Screen

Oh, Fair Flat Panel!
How you have served us these six months
In movies and Video Games
You have brought such joys to our domain
Through f0rty-something inches of your glowing face.
Now you have departed to your true home
We will forever pine your absence
And when we rent a newly released video
We will cry out in unison,
"Whoa is us whom only have purchased 27 inches!!"
You have caused us to want for more!
And some day, more will be had in the home of Teller!!

While my sister Jess and her husband Chris were living at my parents and getting their new home ready, we had the privelege of 'storing' their big screen. Since they bought a new HD tv, they said there is no hurry. Now we've had it for six months; I'm in my 'nesting' phase I asked that they finally take it off of our hands so that I could remove some clutter. It was a necessary evil, but we will definitely miss the little guy...SIGH!

HELLO, Third Trimester!!!

Over the past week, it feels like the pregnancy switch turned to the setting known as FULL GEAR!! A few weeks ago, I remember some friends saying, "You're barely showing." and now I have random strangers that tell me how pregnant I look. I have been so much more tired, dizzy, achy and nauseous in the last four days than I have been in the last four months. Now at 30 weeks, I have entered the home stretch, literally!! This baby just realized how much bigger it needs to be before it comes out or is redecorating or SOMETHING!! I walk for 5 minutes at a pretty slow pace and I'm out of breath and the front half of me feels like it just wants to fall of cuz it's so heavy! Plus, when Ammon took this picture he said sadly, "You're head just looks so little now!!" Just imagine what the pregnancy hormones can do with a self-depricating comment like that... hahaha. Good thing I love my husband and my future baby cuz JEEZ!!!

P.S.> Ammon wants to make sure everybody knows he meant that I looked cute, not unattractive in any way!!

Baby Shower Sweat Shop

Not SWEET Shop... oh no... SWEAT shop. So... in planning my baby shower invitations, I wanted to go a little more scrap-book-ish than normal since I tend to be a very much a 'if-the-computer-can-do-it-why-should-I' type of person. However, little did my sisters and I realize the MADNESS that would overtake such a project. Since my nursery theme is going to be bears, I wanted a bear on the invitation... well, between Alana's mental picture of a more detailed bear and my thoughts that I don't have anything better to do, we created a 3-D bear that made the whole assembly of 79 invitations (don't ask me why 79, but for some reason that's how many we ended up with) a 50-(wo)man-hour-project. Alana decided to AFFECTIONATELY call this my sweat shop... because in all honesty she put in the most work. I am very appreciative of ALL of the effort put forth by my two sisters and my mom and the end results were just FANTASTIC!!!!!

Sitting... a whole lot of Sitting.

It has become a hobby/pastime/career lately to 'sit' things, particularly since I've been laid off. I have the time and space in my home to house whatever, so between dog-sitting and babysitting and now chick-sitting, my life has become more fulfilled than ever!!!! Here are pictures of the chicks we were sitting for some neighbors that went out of town and my nephew Christian at the Playplace in the mall. I also had photos of Mark and Mia (anoher nephew and niece) at the park, but I don't have the adapter to link that camera to my computer. That's what I get for borrowing cameras!!
