Kaleb at 12 Months/1 Year

Kaleb is now the Big "1". I mean that literally because he's a big kid. 30.5 inches; 25 lbs, 10 oz. All above the 75th percentile. He has been really showing some signs of growing up too.

The other day, he donated his first dollar to a charity.

He had his first kiss... with the vacuum

He has become Daddy's Little Boy. He will follow him around the whole house or just sit and cuddle with him. Kaleb only does that with me if he's not busy with something else AND I'm the only person in the house. I don't mind though. I think it's very sweet.

We also got Kaleb's big-boy carseat. As you can tell from the photo, he really likes it!!

Some other fun facts about Kaleb:
*He loves to wave and will do it on command or just randomly as he's passing people.
*Will often give kisses on command
*Loves to clap. Will join in when anyone else does it... even people on TV Also, when he thinks he's done something good, like the video below:
*Enjoys playing with doors and toilets. Both of which has been giving Mommy "Agida" (Oscar quote)
*Has been starting to communicate more and more. Often this entails grunting or randomly yelling to try to tell me something. However, Kaleb said his "First Words" meaning that it's the first thing he said that we knew for sure he was trying to say that actually sounded like what he was trying to say and that he pretty much knew the meaning to: "Hi, Dada". He said it to Ammon over the phone twice in a row, so we know he was doing it on purpose. It figures that the next day he actually called me "Mama". Other words we think he kinda says are: Diaper (die-die) and I Love you (Ayaya).
*Kaleb has never shown any real attachment to anything like a security blanket or whatever, However, we have noticed he REALLY likes walking around with his sippy cup.
*He now throws tantrums. They never last more than a minute or two, but whenever something happens he doesn't like he flails his arms in the air and starts to cry. Usually if we 'change the subject' he does just find.
*Also, Kaleb has gotten into the habit of hitting. Some might say it's no big deal at this age, especially since it doesn't really seem to be to hurt anyone. It's usually in play or to get something or someone away from him. However, we want to nip it in the bud, so if there are any suggestions to help with that let us know. Currently our method is to hold his hands for about ten seconds and say "No". If he repeats it several times times we cross his arms and hold him in a bear hug for about a minute as a time-0ut. Anyway, like I sais any suggestions would be good.
*Kaleb has fed himself for the first time. Below is a video.
