LIFE AS A PLAYGROUND: One of the awesome things about a kid like Kaleb is how much he enjoys little moments, like taking the kite to the park on a windy day!
Or blowing giant bubbles!
Or playing with Mommy's hair!
PRETTY BOY: He gets a little jealous when he sees his little sister's hair prettys, so I have to give in on occasion and let him look pretty too!
PRETTY BOY: He gets a little jealous when he sees his little sister's hair prettys, so I have to give in on occasion and let him look pretty too!
BIGGER AND BIGGER BROTHER: He seems to really enjoy his little responsibilities, especially as the big brother. He is always giving his baby Sasha toys and letting me know when she has "goobers" coming out of her mouth. Here he is comforting and burping her at the same time. Whenever he sees her it's always "Ooooooooh, da baby dirl (girl)!!"
Kaleb has also helped me with the occasional goody, including these homemade cookies.
PAUL BUNYON: Daddy chopped down a pesky little weed-type tree the other day, and Kaleb thought it belonged somewhere else, so he didn't mind picking it up and taking it there all on his own. My buff little man!
TECHY IN TRAINING: Kaleb also likes to take pictures with his fake cell phones. When he does make phone calls on them, it's usually to Grandpa. Not sure which.
DAS RIGHT! We were so proud a few months ago when Kaleb got his haircut all on his own. Usually there were tears and a little bit of restraining, but now he has had two haircuts without even a whimper, on a booster seat!
SO CLOSE: Kaleb loves getting bigger, but sometimes he still is just shy of the mark. Here he is playing a Kinect game, standing on a box because it wouldn't recognize him otherwise.
Little Big Mouth: That's probably what I would give as his Indian name right now. Kaleb loves to chat and understand the things around him! For awhile he had a bit of a stutter (and when he's tired it still comes up) where he would not continue his sentence until he knew the word he was looking for. Once when asking about a Hot Chocolate mug, he said, "Mommy, is that the hot uh... hot uh... hot... hot uh hot hot uh hot..." at this point I couldn't help him cuz I was laughing so hard.
Some other popular phrases for Kaleb these last few months have included:
*(Regarding his diaper) "I'm not stinky. I'm not full. I'm fine."
*Every time in the past is "Last night"
*If we have done something a lot, it's always "Three times"
*Counting usually went from 1-5, 7 then 12. Now he can count to ten without a problem.
*For the longest time, every response came with a drawn out "Oh. SOOOORRRRYY."
*He always says "Love you" when we say I love you to him, and we Love that!!
Won't You Sing with Me: kaleb has learned a bunch of songs and loves to join us! The other day he sang Ring Around the Rosie. I didn't even know he knew that song!! Here is a quick video I took around Christmas time of him singing his ABC's!!
Hey, CUZ! I'm so grateful that Kaleb can spend time with so many family members. This is especially true of Christian and Ellie, who continue to take him under their wings!
Side note: Kaleb is now taller than Ellie, who is around ten months older.
