Kaleb's Birthday Party
Okay, finally posting about Kaleb's 1st Birthday party that happened over a week ago. Kaleb had a blast, despite having an ear infection for a week before! Family and friends had a blast, despite how crowded our house got! I had a blast because everyone else had a blast!! The following are some photos to share the blast-ed-ness!
We didn't want to go too crazy with a theme for his party. So once we decided on having a BBQ, I dug out an old family 'recipe' and made a couple of hamburger cakes. One Big-Mac sized one for Kaleb...
And one 12-inch-Whopper-sized one for our guests.
Some photos of Kaleb enjoying his cake. Pinky up and all!
Opening presents
One of my favorite stories from that night is that while we had Kaleb opening presents we would kinda skip through them quickly instead of letting him really play with any of them while he opened them. So I made a big pile behind me so he could focus on the opening. Anyway, my mom (silly, mommy) included one of Kaleb's bottles amongst the presents since we had left it at her home a few days before. So the bottle ended up in the pile of toys. Once we were done with all of the gift-opening, Kaleb was released and went straight for that pile of toys. He didn't grab Elmo or the dump truck or the puzzles... oh no, he grabbed the bottle. That's my boy!!
My sister got this fun photo of the birthday boy. He looks so sneaky it cracks me up!!
This is my brother Chris trying to enjoy his hamburger. Kaleb started staring wantingly at it, so Chris humored me and made that scary face for the camera. Don't worry, he actually really loves Kaleb.
Video of singing to Kaleb, the group that was there, Kaleb BREATHING OUT the candle and starting on his hamburger cake.
