Da Completed Coop

It is finally complete!! Ammon's shop has so graciously given him the week off (not by request but out of necessity cuz there's no work), so Ammon was finally able to complete our little chick coop (they'll get a bigger one when they're older). It's sitting ever-so-beautifully in our shed and makes me happy that I won't have to worry about the smell of chicken in the house anymore. All of our chicks are doing well, though we did have a scare a few days ago when they all started to pick on the largest in the group Big Mama. She had a little gash in her neck, but it has healed just fine on it's own (cuz it's not like you can put a band-aid on a chicken). They're feathers are starting to come in, so they're just not that cute right now. However, Bowser seems to be very excited about their new outdoor home and every time we go out to visit them, he comes with us all excited as if to say, "Look, they're doing real good. I haven't ett a single one!!"

Da Crib

Here are some photos of Ammon assembling the baby crib!!! It's such a pretty color, finding a dresser to match (for cheap) was a bit of a headache, but finally found one today. Phew!!

Jury Duty

Kind of a funny little thing that happened to me the other day was that I was chosen for jury duty. I've only even been summoned once before and that was when I was just out of high school. It was a DUI case, and I they dismissed me since I was a Mormon (didn't drink at all and thus biased against people who do drink) and since I was the SADD club president in high school. However, THIS time, even though I was 33 weeks pregnant, I couldn't find a single reason to ask to be excused from the jury of a trial involving a stolen vehicle. Long story short, once I was chosen and it took me an hour to get home from downtown Phoenix I was SO annoyed that I was cursing my own honesty. However, by the time I showed up the morning of the trial, I had taken my own advise to "Suck it up!!" and was ready to do my civic duty. When I arrived, one of my fellow jurors (a middle-aged blonde with an obvious need to share EVERYTHING) starts telling us all about how she had sat outside the courthouse right next to the defendant, who was clutching his bible and telling his significant other that he "just shouldn't have taken those keys." Needless to say, once the judge heard about it, there was a quick mistrial, and I was back home within three hours. Now I am SAFE for 24 months!! HALLELUIAH!!

Da Shower

The other day my family hosted a Baby Shower for me, and as you can see from the photo, we got a whole lot of presents. So much that I spent most of my time opening them and not as much time talking with those that came to give me support. It was such a fun time!! My sister Jessica made an awesome Bear-Cake with the help of her cake-decorating trainer Melissa, and it just added to the cuteness!! I appreciate all who came and all who helped and especially for the presents. We got such an amazing asortment of items that we really needed, it was very comforting to have us that much more prepared! Thanks again for such a wonderful time!!!
